When the deadly bubonic plague, a fatal pandemic, afflicts the known world in the 1340’s A.D and kills scores of people, the rulers of the known world discover Zeo Island as the perfect place to dump the sick and purge the known world of the scourge. However, while on the island, the sick miraculously find their healing. But beyond the healing and their wildest imaginations, the healed get more than they desired, as a part of them get their fill of magic, a phenomenon that elevates Zeo Island’s status to the envy of its neighbors leading to its ostracizing of many years when the plague is long gone.

The Islanders have a community they didn’t bargain for. However, there are rules and ancient texts that give direction to the islanders, and the belief in the ancient texts found in the cave of bones shapes the life on the island for 400 years after the plague.

The Imbi Kingdom, which is Zeo Island’s closest neighbor and the strongest kingdom in the known world had always been fearful of its existence in the presence of an unorthodox and sorcery-ridden island, and Imbi Kingdom rulers continuously plot against the Island.

When the ancient texts prophecy that the world of the islanders would crush after 400 years, they also say that the survival of the island after the predetermined period will depend on the nineteen-year-old Ake ‘The Chosen One’ and his trainer Elder Ozi ‘The watcher’
